Letter from the Rector of Czestochowa University of Technology to the Academic Community
Dear Sirs, Dear Staff and Students,
With reference to the introduction of a state of epidemic threat in Poland on 13 March 2020, I have issued orders and announcements regarding the rules on the functioning of the University. The authorities of Czestochowa University of Technology are in regular contact with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Governor of Silesia Province and the Chief Sanitary Inspector.
The emergency situation we are in, requires the adoption of extraordinary measures and actions. We are switching to e-learning. Access to University buildings is limited to the absolute minimum. University administrative offices are not open to the public. Matters shall be handled by e-mail or phone. Administrative staff are required to work remotely. Where the on-site presence is necessary, on-call time for staff shall be introduced.
We are doing our best to ensure smooth and interruption-free functioning of the University. I would like to reassure you that remuneration and scholarship payments are not threatened.
I would like to apologize to staff and students for any inconvenience and restrictions which I was forced to introduce. I would like to thank you for the support and understanding. I would like to thank all staff, especially those who despite their health concerns, are on-call at the workplace.
I am convinced that together, through combined efforts we will cope with challenges in these difficult times. I believe that challenges that are approached in the right way can be overcome.
I will keep you informed of any issues via the University website. Within the next few days announcements regarding e-learning will be published.
Prof. Norbert Sczygiol, PhD, Eng.
Rector of Czestochowa University of Technology
